FAQ

Why do stylists charge different prices ?

Stylists who work here are Independent Contractors who work for themselves and simply rent a station within the salon.  Independent Contractors set their own schedule and prices as they see fit.  Prices vary, based on the amount of advanced education they have obtained, the years experience they have and how busy their schedule is (supply & demand).  Feel free to request a stylist based on years experience to suit your price range.

Why is there a range of pricing for services ?

There are many variables that come into play while providing a service.  The amount of hair one has is one of them…the longer and thicker the hair, the more supplies are used,  such as foils and color.  Another variable is the length of time it takes the stylist to perform the service.  It obviously takes longer to perform a weave on someone with waist- length hair, than that of someone with neck-length hair.

What is the difference between a trim and a haircut ?

Nothing.  The amount of hair that comes off makes no difference in the amount of time the stylist is spending with you.  If anything, the precision of removing say, a quarter inch of hair as opposed to 5 inches, could take longer…so, a haircut is a haircut is a haircut.  Now, a bang trim…that’s different and most stylists will provide their clients with a  complimentary bang trim as needed ~ just ask.

How long will my color last ?

On average, hair color lasts 4 to 8 weeks, with 5-6 being typical.  That is a wide range, but there are many variances that have to do with you.  How much you are in the sun, how hot the water is, how hard the water is, etc.  If you use high quality professional products that are specifically designed for color-treated hair, your hair should hold color for at least 4 weeks.  Color simply deposits molecules of pigment in your hair shaft and no matter what you do, it eventually will come out.  By the way, red just doesn’t last as long…it just doesn’t.

What should I do if I’m not happy ?

We want every client to leave happy.  If you are not satisfied, you should immediately talk to your stylist, so that he or she may have the opportunity to modify the situation.  Keep in mind, every stylist is an Independent Contractor, which means, you are doing business directly with that stylist.  Speaking with the owner of the salon will not change the outcome, as these stylists are running their independent businesses inside this salon establishment.

What if I cancel the same day or don’t show up for my appointment ?

Honestly, not a whole lot.  But…your stylist doesn’t get paid for the amount of time that he or she has set aside especially for you.  Simply put, we understand emergencies, but please understand that late notice cancellations and “no-shows” cost the stylist money, and time that could have been spent with a paying customer.  All stylists respectfully request at least 24 hours notice of a cancellation.
